THE O SIX HUNDRED KAYAK: 4,000 YEAR OLD DESIGN, FUTURISTIC MATERIALS. SMART, BEAUTIFUL, TOUGH and LIGHT.

The Kayak white skin

BUILT BY YOU

You can build the O Six Hundred with your bare hands. The basic Inuit design hasn’t changed since the Bronze Age - because it works. We’ve improved it with modern materials and now it fits together like IKEA – without the allen key.

precise

Only 42 easy pieces make up the frame of the O Six Hundred. Cut with a precision CNC router, the hoop pine plywood is incredibly strong and snaps together, perfectly. At 10 kgs, it’s lighter than a toddler; and far, far quieter.

TOUGH not stupid

Encased in translucent carbon fabric, you’ll slide through the water effortlessly. Treat the O Six Hundred with respect and it’ll love you forever. Drag it across broken bottles and oyster shells, you’ll get cold, wet feet.

THE kayak kit

The O Six Hundred comes ‘ready to assemble’. If you’re strong enough to lift it, you’re smart enough to build it. 42 marine-ply ribs create the primary frame. Cedar spines stretch out to create surprising strength. Finally, the carbon skin completes your kayak - taut, tough and waterproof.

Why we built it

The O Six Hundred kayak is imagined by Ben Cooper and designed by Andrew Simpson of The Balmain Boat Company.  We created it to get lost – for an hour, for a morning, for the afternoon. To sit back from the city and get a different point of view. To challenge the day before it challenged us.
